In the evening sun
Violently awaiting the night
For it will lock the doors
That keys so eagerly desire
And dusk will bring a light
That burns with holy speech
The unseeing must burn
Divine reign and purest sight
Eyes that feast on mourning
Love once bright, now dimmed and dead
Holy fools dance bathed in blood
Everyone must know this:
God speaks with your tongue
Destitute through servitude
Ending what is dearest
Give up vices and cruel sins
Sodomy and witchcraft
Everyone must know this:
Love cut out your tongue
With your soul
With your door
With your key
With your lock
Aquilus took a decade off and came back like he never left! Bellum I is yet another piece of beautiful melodic black metal mixed with classical and folk that makes you wanna dance naked in a forest somewhere. The natural sounding production increases the atmosphere heavily. Griseus is a monumental black metal album for me but Bellum I isn't far behind. Can't wait for II! Ryan
Beautiful and mysterious folk-adjacent songs from this UK outfit that wreathe delicate acoustic guitar in mist-like synths. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 10, 2021
The Milan duo of Alexandros and Jennifer—aka TECHNOIR—deliver an EP of bewitching R&B songs heavy on texture and shade. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 17, 2021
Taleen Kali's latest single harkens back to the sweet garage pop sound of Dum Dum Girls and Frankie Rose and the Outs. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 13, 2022
Wind blasted melodic black metal from the fields of Ukraine. The production is raw and gritty and the performance is aggressive. The additional acoustic guitar passage give some room to breath. Another solid release. 7/10 RJ
